ClassCTRL ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ClassCTRL web platform and the ClassCTRL Employee mobile application (collectively, "the Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Services.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When your employer creates an account for you, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Employee role and permissions
- Organization/company association
Location Data
The ClassCTRL Employee app collects your GPS location when you clock in or clock out. This is used solely to verify your attendance at the correct work location. Location data is only captured at the moment of clock in/out and is not tracked continuously.
Camera and Photos
The app may access your camera or photo library for:
- Profile picture uploads
- Clock-in photo verification (when required by your employer)
- Reimbursement receipt photos
Device Information
We collect device identifiers for the purpose of delivering push notifications about schedule updates, announcements, and other work-related messages.
Usage Data
We may collect general usage data such as app interactions and feature usage to improve our Services. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the mobile app.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide employee scheduling, time tracking, and class management features
- Verify clock-in/out attendance for your employer
- Send push notifications about schedules, messages, and announcements
- Process reimbursement submissions
- Maintain and improve the Services
Data Sharing
- Your Employer: Your data (including clock-in/out times, location, timesheets, and attendance records) is shared with your employer through the ClassCTRL platform. Your employer is the data controller for employment-related data.
- Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting, data storage, and push notifications (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging). These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
SMS / Text Messaging
ClassCTRL may send SMS text messages to customers and contacts on behalf of your organization for class reminders, billing notifications, account alerts, and other operational communications. By opting in to receive text messages, you agree to the following:
- Message frequency varies based on your account activity and your organization's communication preferences.
- Message and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless carrier for details about your messaging plan.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further texts will be sent.
- For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at info@classctrl.com.
- Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Your organization may also send promotional messages about products, services, or upcoming events. You may opt out of promotional messages separately by replying STOP to a promotional message, while continuing to receive operational messages such as billing alerts and class reminders.
- Supported carriers include, but are not limited to, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and other major U.S. carriers. Service may not be available on all carriers.
Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit and at rest
- Authentication uses industry-standard JWT tokens
- Biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID) is processed entirely on your device by the operating system and is never transmitted to our servers
- Login credentials stored on device are encrypted using platform-provided secure storage
Data Isolation
ClassCTRL is a multi-tenant platform. Each organization's data is logically isolated. Employees of one organization cannot access data belonging to another organization.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (subject to employer retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent for optional data collection (e.g., push notifications)

Children's Privacy
The ClassCTRL Employee app is intended for use by employees and staff members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The student data managed within the platform is controlled by the educational institution (your employer) and is subject to their own privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
